The Institution of Engineering and Technology, India started the annual IET India Scholarship Awards in 2013 to underline the organisation’s commitment to India’s engineering community. The aim was to reward young people entering the engineering and technology profession.
After a successful run from 2013-2016, it was re-launched in 2021 in a digital format. In 2023, the awards drew tremendous participation across the country, with more than 43,000 entries.
The IET India Scholarship Award is open to all 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th-year undergraduate engineering students from AICTE/UGC-approved institutions. The participants are evaluated across rigorous parameters that include academic performance, extracurricular activities, range of outreach activities and their ability to come up with engineering solutions to solve problems impacting society. The advisory committee for the IET India Scholarship Award comprises academicians and corporate professionals of national repute who help build a strong framework for the awards.
